Magnetic Bookmarks

Another use for those little notecards - or again, you can use your own cardstock. Here I used the scallop punch and the So Many Scallops set again to frame my initial, making a monogram. The alphabet stamp that I used is from the Lovely Letters Alphabet set of Stampin' Up's. The ink I used was Ballet Blue and the blue circle is punched with 1 3/8" punch in Bashful Blue. They are layered but not popped up because I wanted them flat.

I then used a magnet on the inside. One piece on the top and one on the bottom so that they match up when the card is closed. (Here's a good use for those credit card magnets, calendar magnets, etc. that you get in the mail or as giveaways at fairs and such.)

Now, depending on the strength of your magnet, you can cover them on the inside with another piece of cardstock, or if your magnet is not that strong - like mine - just leave it the way it is.

When the glue dries you have a magnetic bookmark. Now the next time you buy a book for a gift imagine the double surprise when you include a handmade magnetic bookmark.
