Jingle Belles - Text Me

I found these two small Christmas cards (on the left above and below) from last year in a basket when I was looking for something else recently and thought that they would be good for this week's challenge for the Jingle Belles - Text Me.  For the one above I simply cut the back off the card, layered it and part of a lace doily the color of the background onto a Very Vanilla card base, and finished by adding a bow out of vintage ribbon.

Below was a tiny bit more involved.  The texty background paper that you see was actually repurposed from a homemade envelope someone sent me a Christmas card in.  (Look familiar to anyone?)  Well, I carefully used my hot breath to heat up the adhesive used to make the envelope, gently pulling it apart and unfolding it.  The creases were pretty well set in so I camouflaged them with some baker's twine embellishing.   I also carefully pealed the popped up Santa hat and ho, ho, ho banner from the other little card.  The owl is a puffy sticker and I think the hat fits him pretty perfectly.

So let me mosey on over to the Jingle Belles blog and see the other lovely texting masterpieces.
