Chip

I just couldn't resist taking pictures of this little guy as I watched him yesterday morning.  He's having his breakfast right now, but he's also been stocking up for the winter.  Just before these pics I observed him filling his cheeks and running back and forth to his secret den.  I was most amazed to see him completely stuff a maple leaf into his mouth and run off with it.  I wonder if that will be a lining for his little stash?

  1. How totally cute and adorable. I'd so love to see these in the wild - the only time I've ever seen them at all was in a pet-shop in Paris. They were labelled squirrels, which they quite obviously weren't, and I hadn't realised chipmunks were quite so small. Thank you for these delightful photos. I love the first one where he's nibbling on the sycamore.

  2. You've gotta be fast to grab a picture of a chipmonk. I love them. They don't live in FLorida. Nothing does.
