This first picture was taken about a week and a half ago through the trees in our front yard. Sorry it's so dark, but the sun was setting in the west and the back side of this balloon was getting illuminated. But, it was the first balloon of the season and I had to get a snap. I believe they were practising for the Balloon Fest which was held over this last weekend.
The only glimpse we actually got over the weekend was on Sunday morning and even then it was not much as we were told only about 30 balloons went up early and they came down very fast due to higher than safe winds.
We did manage to catch up with one that actually came down on the playground of the school where I work. I did not see it inflated, but I believe it was a bee. You can see in the second picture how the basket dragged across the ball infield before stopping. It took many people to get this one all squared away.
