Scribble Picnic - EGG HUNT

Wanna go on a Scribble Picnic EGG HUNT?  How many eggs can you find?

Spring break started on Monday and since the students are not in school I took some vacation days this week.  I've been trying to take care of a few things around the house but most of all, I've been trying to put some of my stash of craft supplies to use.  That can be very distracting.  But it can also be inspiring.

My egg was inspired by some scribbling and painting I had been doing over the last week or so.

My paper flowers were created with dies that I had picked up a few years ago and had not yet used.  I thought I would give them a try this week.   The only problem was that after I had them all die cut I found out the instructions that came with them referred me to a website that was supposed to have more complete video instructions, but since these particular dies have been discontinued, the video was not available.  So I had to fudge around with that daffodil a bit.  Thank goodness there's a good color picture of them on the packaging.  I'm liking how they came out and wish I had a stamp of my egg so I could make some cards with them.

Had I known I was going to like the egg so much I would have made a copy of the black and white drawing before I painted it in.  (The violets below do not have their centers yet.  I spent some time searching the stamp cave for yellow flower soft and finally remembered that I didn't have yellow flower soft at all.  So I had to result to using my cut paper technique to get those fuzzy looking centers you see above.)

Well, I hope you have an enjoyable Easter or Passover, and beware of April Fools!  I think we might be taking a little trip to Cape May this week for a birthday lunch and some shopping, but our Easter will be quiet.  We visited Rachel and her boyfriend Ryan in their new house in DE last weekend and our son and his family are planning the little guy's 2nd birthday for next weekend so we'll all be together then.

So for now, I hope you join me in hunting down all the eggs the Picnickers have hid for this Egg Hunt by clicking here.  Stay tuned for the new theme.

  4. Lorraine, I love what you’ve done here - very creative and clever and I’m not even going to bother to try to count all those eggs! Ha ha. I love the colors as well, and those cut out flowers are spectacular wow I feel so Easter Like with these pictures. It’s just wonderful. Thank you. Enjoy your spring break. :-)

I will have the new things up tomorrow, Friday. I’m just too tired now to do the HTML for those. Thank you.

  5. Hi Lorraine :) This is just wonderful...you know, I DID start counting the eggs I saw and kind of gave up around 30 or so when my eyes started to cross lol ;) It's a really lovely egg, the colours are so nice together. And you are a whiz with that paper craft! The flowers are so pretty! :) Happy Easter to you! :)

  6. I've found that so disappointing with the Susan's Garden dies - guessing this is one. Especially as I can't seem to find the downloaded pdf files for some of them. Thank goodness for a few YouTube videos still out there! I think the daffodil turned out great; I'm still dithering over a fuchsia stamen which must be a little similar.

  7. Now isn't that pretty! But I think I'll also pass on counting the little eggs.

We aren't traveling for Easter either. The whole family was together two weekends ago to celebrate, a bit early, a special birthday for my husband! Our fifth grandchild is due to arrive within a couple of weeks, so of course we plan to travel then!

May the blessing of Easter be yours year-round!
