Scribble Picnic - BLACK & WHITE

The theme of BLACK & WHITE this week gave me the opportunity to use my new tangle TIE IT UP on a Zentangle tile.  I used the string 094 from Tanglepatterns.com and added three other tangles - Twile, Hibred, and Faux Weave giving those ties some suit textures to keep company with.

I find that Tanglepatterns.com is a good resource for tangles.  There is an alphabetic listing of tangles there to choose from.  The step-outs for the tangles are easily found and make for good practice. There are also strings featured (strings are the line that is drawn on the tile to give you the spaces to add the tangles to).  I find tangling very relaxing...... when I'm not in a hurry.

I'm going to find out what else is BLACK & WHITE about this picnic.  You can join me by clicking here.  And should you wish to join in next week, the theme is WATCH OUT!

    1. There is a peace in the repetitiveness. When you're concentrating on it, your mind is free of everything else.

  6. Your Zentangle art looks fabulous, Lorraine! I enjoy doing Zentangles too...so meditative. I tend to just let my pen/brain decide what is coming next...free-form, I guess you could say.

  9. Never heard or read about that tangle patterns website until now. How clever! Thank you. As it is, the weave is my fave patterns her but love the other ones shown too. Perfect for black and white. Great job, Lorraine. Thank you!

    1. Thanks Michael. I like to give credit to the resources I use when I can. I think it's good blogging etiquette and it helps to spread the word, so to speak, about different techniques and such.

  15. Great job! I know it's not really supposed to look like anything, but I can't help but think the woven parts look like pie crust!
