Scribble Picnic - Fill in the Blank

And............. here is the shape that we have to bring to the picnic this week.

I played around with this late last week.  I had a set of colored pencils out and was just kind of trying out color combinations to see which I liked best, not sure where I wanted to go with it.  Before I closed the book on it I decided to add the little acrobats.

So last night I set about to try expanding on it and got caught up with pencil and ruler in hand while a thunderstorm was quickly approaching.  This is as far as I got before the lights began to flicker and the power went out.  I knew it would be some time before the storm ended and probably even longer before the power came on so I turned in for the night.  (The power came back around 3 a.m.)

And since tonight I was busy making deviled eggs for our work "end of summer picnic" this is all I have to offer this week.

Please take a look at what the other Picnickers brought this week by clicking here.  And should you want to join the picnic next week, the theme is CURLY.

Now I have to write a note for HWNSNBP to pick up paprika in the morning so I can "spice up" those deviled eggs before I leave for work.

  1. I'm going to think of the first version as your take on the theme. I like how simple this is & the added acrobats are a lot of fun especially the last one dangling a the corner down there.

    have a lovely day.

    1. I have such a hard time choosing colors and usually wind up with the same color pallet. This was a fun change.

  3. Oh. you are a hoot ... I love your little acrobats on the colorful squares. But your lights out version has great potential and I am wondering if you will ever go back to it and make it shine ... I love a good storm, but don't like it when the power goes off :( Bet you slept well though :)

Hard to believe summer is at an end. School started here a week ago.

    1. Thanks! You're right, it does look like it could become a quilt. Maybe I'll just do that - we'll see. Summer goes by so quickly, doesn't it!

Paprika with deviled eggs is the only way I ever eat those! Yum. Please bring some to the next picnic! :)

    1. Honestly, I wasn't really sure where it was going. Maybe losing power was divine intervention (or just the opportunity for a good excuse). I would love to bring some deviled eggs to the picnic should we ever actually gather in person. And they will definitely have paprika on them!

  6. I like all the little people in your colored piece. Playful. When the power goes out life is indeed different.

    1. THank you Tammie Lee. Yes, life is different. And I should have shut off all the light switches before I went to bed!
