Jingle Belles 20

This week's challenge was to create a card featuring Santa Claus, or St. Nicholas, or Father Christmas, or Sinter Klaas, or Pere Noel, or Kanakaloka, or Babbo Natale, or Swiety Mikolaj - well they're all here.  He may be known by many other names but we all know what he represents benevolence.

I have only a couple Santa images, but this simple one was in the dollar bin at Mike's a couple of Christmas' ago and he's taken up residence in the stamp castle.  Thought it was time to pull him out and get my money's worth.

I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the Santa's to look like a snowflake, but upon thinking, snowflakes are six-sided so this must be some crazy kind of Christmas Flower.   Anyway,  I stamped him in Basic Gray ink and then used my markers to color him.  His cheeks are highlighted with blush which I hope won't fade out too much.  We shall see in December!

This is a bigger card than I normally do - wound up to be 6x6 so I needed to use a piece of bristol board for the base.  The red and green trims are from the Sizzix die that makes all those trims - can't remember the name right now.  The buttons are strung with some red cotton twine.  It needed a little more dimension so I added those white pompoms on the hats and the red corduroy button in the center for punch.

Here's a close up!

Now hurry over with me to catch the other Santa's on the Jingle Belles blog - I'm cutting it real close to the deadline this week!

  1. OH.
    MY.
    GOSH!!!!!!!!!

are you sayin' that is NOT one stamp with 8 santas arranged in a circle, but the same SMALL santa positioned and stamped *PERFECTLY* eight times??!?! HOLY MOLY! how didja even DO THAT??!?!?! on a WHITE background, too!!! i could no more do that than i could jump off a roof and FLY!!! holy mackeral, you are amazing!!!

apart from the (seemingly impossible) mechanics of this, even when i thought it was one BIG stamp, i already thought what a gorgeously attractive card this was, with the pretty design and the sweet details like pom poms etc. but WOW, now i am EVEN MORE impressed!!!

    ♥♥♥♥♥♥!!!
