Teapot Tuesday 65

Yippee Yay - Cindy's back today!!!  And with a stinkin' cute teapot and a story to go along with it that you have to read to understand my card for today.  Please go visit Cindy's glob and give her a great welcome back!

This little teapot house belongs to Blacken White and his wife Blanca.  Blanca has a mission for us.  She's tired of the same old black and white and she wants us to hit Blacken with color.  So here is my story........

Mr. and Mrs. Blacken White and The Magic Room

Blanca the wife
and Fran with the Plan
got some sheets ready
and snuck up on the man.

They spun and they twisted
and though they felt crummy
they wrapped Blacken up
till he looked like a mummy.

The moon was full,
the bats flew by,
the pumpkins stood watch
as they gave it a try.

They pushed him in
and counted to three.
They opened the door
and what did they see?

Blacken was wrapped
but he wasn't duller.
Oh no, it was magic
He was now full of color!

This is called a magic card and I found the directions on Splitcoast in the Resources section.  This mummy stamp was in the $1 bin at Mike's along with the pumpkin stamp this year.  I picked up the sentiment and bat stamps at Mike's a couple of years ago.  I used SU's Itty Bitty Backgrounds on the Pumpkin Pie cs.

Pretty cool, huh!

  1. Now this card musta been alot of work! I am so impressed by it! I think I tried this once, maybe, but it probably felt like a technique to me! Snort! Your poem is da bomb! I love, love, love it! And ole Blacken is sporting some pretty awesome colors....Take that Blacken....although, I do feel him softening!

  2. I saw this in the TPT gallery, but I love the way you have it laid out here with verses, picture, verses, picture, verses. Very picture-book style. It's a pity you can't give it the same way - hope you're going to put the poem inside, though.

  3. Oh DAMN! This was just what I needed for a pick-me-up. I'm not saying my sister is stupid. In fact she's BRILLIANT, but the one time I sent her a color change card, she never knew to pull it out!

    (UPS lost my computer)

  5. p.s. I made one of these a century ago, and I went to the SC site and read the instructions a million times (hey, I exaggerate) and for the life of me I can't figure it out. The SC site has you making TWO acetate images, but I can't remember what I hide the colored part behind. (a BLANK piece of cardstock?)

  6. Dana,
I found it a bit wasteful to use the two acetate sheets. One is solely used for lining the images up. I prefer to use vellum cs for that. You can stamp on it with any ink and keep in the box with the stamps. I cut the cs up into squares and keep it handy. You need to have a see through pattern to be able to line your image up with the Stamp-a-ma-jig.
